Introduction :
Positioning as placing the person in such a way to person therapeutic planning to promote the health of an individual.positioning is the basic procedure of nursing care.
What is positioning?
Positioning is to placing the person in a proper body alignment for the purpose of preventive,promotive,curative aspects of health care of the patient.
Purposes of positioning:
To improve the body circulation of the patient.
To prevent formation of deformity.
To perform surgical and medical investigations.
To provide comfort to the patient.
To prevent pressure sores.
To provide proper body alignment according to the disease condition of the patient.
Principles of positioning:
Active participation
Co - operations between nurse and patient.
Systematic and orderly way.
Using a right technique.
Types of positions:
Dorsal recumbent position
Supine/ dorsal position
Prone position
Sim's position
Lithotomy position
Fowler's position
Semi Fowler's position
