Admission of the patient ( nursing procedure)

What is admission of the patient?

Admission is the major and basic procedure in the hospital.
Admission of a patient means to allow a person to stay in the hospital for analyse, observation, investigation,diagnosis and treatment of the disease or disorder he/she is suffering from.
The admission of a patient to a hospital can be either emergency or routine.

Procedure of admission of the patient:

First to receive the patient.
Reception of the patient.
Recording and collecting the social and medical data.
Proceed the medical examination
Transporting the patient from OPD(out patient department) or emergency to IPD (In patient department).
Preliminary observation of the patient.
Helping the patient to occupy his bed.
To start the diagnosis and further treatment to the patient.
